Characters:

Sesshomaru: Sesshomaru is Inuyasha's full demon half brother(Inuyoukai). He's older than Inuyasha and he looks down at his little brother, because Inuyasha has a human mother. He meets up again with his brother during his search for the sword Tetsusaiga, the steel cleaving fang. However, for some strange reason he can't touch it, yet Inuyasha can. This is because the sword was created to protect humans and he hates them. He also travels around with his demon side-kick, Jaken, and is later joined by a little girl named Rin. In the manga he's drawn as a Bishonen, meaning he looks really feminine. Has a bad attitude towards most people, and yet, there are times when he will do something nice. For example, he brings Rin brings back to life and sort of adopts her. He also told Kagome how to save Inuyasha at one point, which if he were as nasty as he'd love you to believe, he'd have just let him die. He also finds Naraku interesting, but hates to be manipulated by him. And later on in the manga series his wish finally comes true, but he gets a sword that's even more powerful than the Testusaiga, called the Toukijin. As the series goes on, this swords breaks, and the Tensaiga is reforged by Toutou-sai into a sword that can also be used as a weapon. Currently, Sesshomaru is in the process of learning more of what the sword can do. *SPOILER ALERT*His mother is testing him by having him rescue Rin & Kohaku.*END OF SPOILER*

Note: The first Part of his name, Sessho means Killing/Destruction of life it also means regent/regency & the second part Maru means circle, full (month), perfection, purity, as well as used as a suffix for ship names. The IY artbook, translates his name as "Destruction Man."

Rin: She is an orphan who was wandering around in the woodswhen happen to find a rather banged up Sesshomaru. For reasons unknown to anyone but her, but possibly because she felt not only sorry for him, but because on some level she knew what it's like to be battered and bruised, she decided to "adopt" Sesshomaru. Rin spent the time it took for him to recover, caring for him by bringing him little gifts of food & water. Sesshomaru on the other hand told her he didn't want or need her help. She did however manage to worm her way into his heart because after finding her dead body(she was attacked by Kouga's wolves), he used Tensaiga to revive her. He even gives her a one armed hug. That was all she needed to become part of his group. Anyway, it seems her life with Sesshomaru is a much better one than the one she left behind, where the villagers, from her village, thought nothing of beating a poor defenseless child for catching a fish to eat. It could be she's the first person Sesshomaru ever knew that was not afraid of him and was willing to be nice to him simply for the sake of being nice. Seems she's Fluffy's original Fangirl! ^^

Note: Her name means companion.

Their relationship: Some peole see it as father/daughter or caregiver/ward. I see it as a romantic relationship waiting to happen, since she is child when they meet. Sesshomaru while he seems to ignore her, is actually quite protective of her of will go to great lengths to protect her or rescue her whenever she's in trouble. I can see them growing closer together as time goes on and she gets older, until the point where they do fall in love. It's very obvious Rin likes him very much from the start, because when her village was being overrun & the villagers killed by Kouga's wolves, she runs straight for Sesshomaru as she feels in her heart he'll protect her. Unfortuantely she trips and is killed by his wolves. Sesshoamru as he is preparing to leave, smells her blood on the wind & he goes off to investigate. When he sees her body, he feels the Tensaiga pulsing at his hip, so he draws it & uses it to kill the gaki (messengers of hell) who are there to take her soul to the netherworld. Afterwards he picks her up and listens for heart, which quickly syatrs beating again. From that moment on, Rin is apart of his group. There have been imes when Rin has been kidnapped by Kagura for Naraku to use against Sesshomaru, but he always manages to save her. The same thing happens when Rin goes off to visit Jinenji for some herbs to cure Jaken & when she falls off a cliff, Sesshomaru appears just in time. He also comes to her rescue in the third movie and Rin is just as willing to put herself in danger for him, when she takes off to get the Tensaiga after he drops it in a battle. And it is also because of her gentle influence, that Sesshoamru is able to use the Tensaiga as well as having some feelings of sadness when Kagura dies. Now it appears she's going to be key in understanding how the Tenasiga works. So I can definitely see these tow getting together in the future as soon as she is old enough.
