Inu-Yasha, A Feudal Fairy tale, is a romantic comedy created
by Rumiko Takahashi in 1996. It started as a manga series and later became
an anime one. It is the story of a girl from the future who falls down
a well and ends up in feudal Japan. While there she learns she's the reincarnation
of a temple preistess named Kikyo. Kikyo had a realtionship with a half
demon named Inu-Yasha. Part of Kikyo's dutyies was to protect the Shikon
Jewel from demons and men as it had the power to make any ambition a reality.
When Kikyo was cremated the jewel was burned with her, this is probably
how it wound up inbedded in Kagome's side. Kikyo is the one who pinned
Inu-Yasha to a tree before she died. He remained there enchanted until
Kagome showed up and freed him. She did that cuz she needed his help fighting
off a demon. So as not to take advantage of Kagome, The Lady Kaede placed
a set of prayer beads around Inu-Yasha's neck and had Kagome utter a subdoing
spell. This is the reason why whenever Kagome says "Sit(in the manga)
or Sit Boy(in the anime)" Inu-Yasha falls flat on his face! This
is one of the funnier parts of the whole series. Anyways the rest of the
time is spent fighting off demons who have found parts of the shattered
jewel(Kagome shattered it when trying to stop a demon who took it, by
hitting oit with her amazingly well placed arrow!). It's also the story
of the two of them seeming to fall in love, while both denying it!
