Manga Book Nine

Note: This book recounts what happened so far in the story as well as gives a brief description of the main characters.

This book starts with Kagome dreaming she did well in school. Then she wakes up to find she was only dreaming. This starts a fight about her wanting to go for an exam. Meanwhile Shippo finds some heads floating in a stream. Miroku picks one up so it can be buried. Then he notices that it isn't what it seems & they all look at it & try & figure out what it is. Kagome gets the bright idea they need to investigate what happened to these people. Inuyasha gets mad as she & Miroku take off without him! Meanwhile somewhere in the mountains... A poor guy is running for his life. He's being chased by a big fat giant of a man. Who must be a demon as he winds up eating the other guy. Meanwhile down below the gang is walking along the stream & see a tree. The tree is calling them! There are heads on the tree growing like fruit. They talk to the heads & hear a story about a "Peach Man". Inuyasha declares that this is the work of a demon & he's off. They want him to wait but he complains that by the time he hauls everyone up the sun will have set. Shippo & Kagome discuss that. Meanwhile the Peach Man is eating when Inuyasha shows up!

Inuyasha jumps right in to battle him so he can finish him off before the sun sets & he loses his powers. Inuyasha can't believe it when the Peach Man's stomach repels the Tetsusaiga!!! The Peach Man creates some flowers & tells Inuyasha to look at them. Suddenly the flowers are Huge!!!! It's really that Inuyasha is small! The Peach Man eats him! Meanwhile Shippo is using his balloon form to carry Kagome & Miroku up the mountain. They just manage to make it. The come into a room with a small area set up like a child's play set of the surrounding land. They see really tiny people living in it! They talk to them. Before they know it they're small too & in the play set. Kagome loses her Jewel shard. The Peach Man finds it. He sticks it in his belly button!(EEEEWWWWW!!! If I were Kagome I won't want it back after that!!!!YUCK!!!!) Then he drinks something. Meanwhile Inuyasha is doing his best to give the Peach Man a major league stomach ache! As he's trying to claw his way out his starts to change into his human form!

Poor Inuyasha now has big trouble as he can now feel pain from the stomach acid. Meanwhile the Peach Man is Playing with the Tetsusaiga! Poor Inuyasha on the other hand is in BIG trouble as he's starting to get digested! Fortunately The Tetsusaiga's scabbard is calling it & The Tetsusaiga stabs the paech Man in his stomach! The Jewel Shards however repel it. But it's enough to make him throw Inuyasha up! That starts another battle as Inuyasha recovers the Tetsusaiga! Poor Inuyasha gets smooshed by the Peach Man! When he wakes up he finds himself entangled in vines. He can't get out. Inuyasha sees the Jewel Shards in the Peach Man's belly button. He's now worried cuz he knows Kagome is here. Meanwhile the others are still talking to the people in the play set. That's when the Peach Man reaches in and...!!!

Meanwhile Inuyasha is trying to get away so he can save Kagome! Then the Peach Man opens up his and to see what he grabbed & finds Kagome!!! While talking to himself Kagome learns the Peach Man has Inuyasha!!!! She tells him Inuyasha had better be alive!!!Miroku & Shippo are impressed with her as they try to get out! Then the Peach Man decides to eat Kagome. Meanwhile Inuyasha is in bad shape & he's upset when he finds Kagome's clothes!!!He demands the Peach Man tell him what he did with her! He tells Inuyasha that he ate her which is all Inuyasha needs to get fired up & He gets loose of the vines! Meanwhile Miroku tries to help but all his wind Tunnel is good for in his tiny size is dusting the room! This is also how he learn's about Inuyasha human form. After thinking he'd destroyed the Peach Man, Inuyasha finds Shippo & Miroku. Meanwhile Kagome Is sitting naked in a cold Sake bath!!! She tries to leave but the demons in the kitchen stop her so she's stuck where she is for a while. Then Inuyasha saves her & is embarrassed to see her naked!!! She had jumped up happy to see him & forgot she wasn't dressed! (As if) Anyways he gives her his jacket to wear. He thinks she doesn't want it cuz it's covered in his blood. She tells him she's not bothered by it. Meanwhile the Peach Man is up and...

Inuyasha's in bad shape as he's badly wounded. He's being stalked by the Peach Man who wants to finish him off. Miroku & Shippo are hiding in his sleeve. Kagome is worried about him too. Inuyasha wants to know if it's morning yet. It's not & they have to keep moving. They find themselves at a dead end on a balcony. Here they meet the real Hermit Master(A flower head). He tells them it was he who taught the Peach Man his tricks. Inuyasha is mad & yells at him for teaching a demon that kind of magic. The Hermit Master tells him the Peach Man was really a human. Then The Peach Man is back & he's stronger than before! Miruko tells Inuyasha that it's possible he was a human before. More battling goes on. The Peach Man tells how he got to be the way he is & what he did to the Hermit Master. He tells them he's been using people to make his elixir of long life! Kagome calls him a cannibal! Then she tells Inuyasah not to move cuz he's hurt. Inuyasah & the Peach Man battle again! Inuyasha is told to drink the elixir to cure his wounds but he won't! Kagome is proud that his heart is Human, but the Peach Man feels he's going to regret it!

The Battle coninues & it doesn't look good for Inuyasha! Everyone wants to help him but they can't. Then Kagome finsd a bow & atempts to save Inuyasha! The hermit master is impressed! Unfortunately she breaks the bow before she can do anything! It looks like this is the ned for Inuyasha!! He tries to fight back, but the Peach Man breaks his arm! Then then Hermit Master gives Kagome a gift! He changes into a bow & tells her to avenge all the people who were destroyed by the Peach Mna! She shots her arrow into the Peach Man's back & knocks out the Jewel Shards. The Peach Mna then turns on her. Then Inuyasha tries to save her and when he punches the Peach Man they both fall over the balcony! Kagome & Inuyasha cry out to each other! He doesn't care if he dies as long as Kagome is safe!

Another scene of them falling & then it's seen that everyone is their true size again as they find the body of the Peach Man. Since Inuyasha's body can't be found they fear he's been smooshed beneath the Peach Man! They try to rescue him hoping he's still alive! Meanwhile it's morning and guess who wakes up in a tree? By now everyone is sure Inuyasha's dead & Shippo's crying. Meanwhile Inuyasha is up the tree & can hear what's going on! He's amazed Kagome isn't crying!!! She's like mad at him. Then he shows uyp to tell them he's alive! Everyone's like whay are you sulking & Inuyasha's mad Kagome called him an idiot! Then she starts crying & he get flustered cuz she's crying cuz she's happy he's alive! Meanwhile all the peach heads turn into real fruit. Then we see her back at home & Inuyasha is being told to rest by Shippo. Still Kagome is worried about him & she wonders if he'll become a human when he gets the whole jewel or a demon. Meanwhile the guys are hanging out & they're discussing what Inuyasah is going to do with the jewel. Miroku reminds him that no one has acted heroic while being possessed by the jewel & how would he feel if as a full demon he killed Shippo & Kagome? As for Miroku he said he'd be ;long gone before Inuyasha could kill him! Inuyasha feels that's just rubbish as all they've dealt with are evil people. Meanwhile somewhere else...A largr centipede like demon is being destroyed by a woman exterminator! She claims a jewel shard as her reward from the local villagers. She changes into her other clothes & it's a pretty young girl we see who's off to her own village. We find out that the Jewel was created in her village!

Then the gang come upon the scene where the girl destroyed the centipede. they quiestion the villagers & learn about the Exterminators! The villagers tell them that the Exterminators are collecting the shards cuz the jewel came from their village. Miroku asks Inuyasha if he knew about this, but he tells him all he knew was that Kikyo was guarding it & nothing else mattered at the time. Meanwhile the girl is home & she's greeted by Kirara her pet "cat" & her younger brother. we also learn her name is Sango. We see her father is happy she brought home another jewel shard. We also learn that 50 years ago it was given to a priestess & she died protecting it. All they can do now is find the shards & keep them until another can purify them. Sango is told to rest as there's another job they have to go to. Her brother Kohaku is also told he'll be going too. He's scared & he talks to Sango about it. She tries to calm his fears. Then they are at a castle, where they are told about the demon. The Lords of the castle questions the wisdom of bringing a young boy as well as a girl to desrtoy the demons. Then the spider deomn shows up & the battle begins! Meanwhile an old retainer is talking to the Young Lord who's not been well. The battle goes well until when it's over. Then Kohaku is bit by a small spider & for some reason murders the other exterminators!!! Except Sango who's shocked! The Lord of the castle strngely isn't.

Sango is shocked at Kohaku's behavior! So is everyone else!!! The Lord tells his men to let them havbe it out. Then Sango finds herself battling her brother. She notices he's possessed & traces it back to the Lord! She's attacked by his men & stabbed in the back by Kohaku's sickle! Then he comes to his senses & freaks out at what he's done! They die together. Then The lord is killed! The Young Lord tells everyone that it was not really his father there. He feels badly at what happened & has the men bury the bodies in the garden. Meanwhile the gang is off to the Exterminators' village! They spot a demon horde over head. They chase after it! Meanwhile Sango isn't dead yet & she crawls out of her grave after being left there. Badly Injured the young Lord finds her & is amazed she's still alive!

They gang arrive at the village only to find the dead are everywhere; human & demon alike. Then a large cat-like beast comes at them! Inuyasha is poised to defend everyone & is stopped by Myouga who was riding on Kirara(the cat-like beast's powerful form). Then Kirara reverts back into a kitten. & Myouga is scratched off her. He jumps up on Inuyasha., who wants to know what he's doing ther. (miroku askas shippo who the flea is & is told) Then Myouga explains what could have happened here. Mewanwhile at the castle the Young lord is happy that Sango has survived. He talks to her & after a while is called outside by Naraku!They talk & Sango overhears that it was Inuyasha who murdered everyone in Sango's village! Meanwhile the gang is buryiong the dead in Sango's village. They find out that Myouga came here to research the jewel. Then back at the castle Naraku & the Lord continue their talk. Sango overhears & drags herself out of bed to declare she's going to kill Inuyasha!
