Note: This book recounts what happened so far in the story as well as gives a brief description of the main characters.

Picks up with the battle from the previous book/chapter & Inu has finally found the path of the wind scar & he's using it. Sesshy gets the shock of his life & everyone thinks he's dead cuz he took the full force of the Tetsusaiga. Toutou-sai basically laughs at them. & Inuyasha gets found out that he didn't have the heart to kill his older brother. Inu's like the only reason he couldn't use the full force was he was paralyzed & couldn't swing the sword all the way. Anyways Inu gets to keep it after all. Then Inu explains the reason Sesshy could sense the wind scar was that he could smell it with his better nose! Then Kagome asks about Sesshy's sword & it seems the Tensaiga protected Sesshy after all. Meanwhile a battered & bruised Sesshy is lying somewhere in the forest. A sweet little girl finds him. Even after he growls at her she's not afraid & He's amazed that she's trying to take care of him.

Toutou-sai leaves & Kagome senses another shard. Meanwhile there are scenes of dead villagers. & the gang finds them. Inu said he smells wolves. The jewel she sensed before seems to have moved. Meanwhile the little girl is busy taking care of Sesshy. She brings him food & water. He tells he doesn't need it. So she goes home & later that night she catches a fish for him & gets beat up for her trouble. She goes to Sesshy & brings him some rats instead. He asks her what happened to her face & she says nothing. Then she smiles at him happy that he cared about her. She then goes home & finds someone in her hut. They stare at each other & they hear the villagers call out there's wolves in the village. The guy is worried & as he tries to escape he gets caught by them. Another guy shows up, it's Kouga. He gets the stolen shard away from the guy & kills him. Then he lets his wolves feed on the villagers. The girl Rin, gets scared & runs away. Meanwhile Sesshy is trying to get up & go home with Jaken. We see the wolves chasing Rin! She trips & they get her. Sesshy Senses something wrong & smells blood.

We see Sesshy thoughts about Rin & he wonders if that's where the blood is coming from. Then he finds her dead body. He makes Sesshy eyes at the wolves & they leave scared. Jaken makes some stupid comments about Rin & Sesshy remembers her smile so he takes out the Tensaiga. Jaken wonders what Sesshy's up to. Sesshy can see the gaki or messengers of death. He kills them(Jaken can't see them & he wonders what Sesshy is doing) & picks up Rin. He watches her & she comes alive again! Jaken is amazed at a) Rin's alive again & b) sesshy had something to do with it. Nice drawing of Sesshy smiling & thinking about the Tensaiga & how Inu will come to regret he didn't kill him. Meanwhile Inu & company find the wolves & they all kill them although some escape & start calling someone or something. Then Kouga shows up. He's pissed his wolves were killed.

Kouga & Inu face off against each other & a fight starts over the dead wolves. We find out he's the leader of the demon wolf clan. During the fight Kagome warns Inu to be careful as Kouga has jewel shards. Kouga's impressed. The fight resumes. Just as Inu's about to use the wind scar Kouga senses it & leaves. They think he's a coward & they go after him. Meanwhile Kouga is thinking about Kagome. He decides he's going to get her to work for him.

The gang is still looking for Kouga. Suddenly his wolves attack & before he knows it Kouga has stolen Kagome off Inu's back & carries her away! Miroku realizes too late that's what Kouga wanted to do all along! They try & go after them but are stopped by the birds of paradise! Luckily for Kouga he managed to out run them & he brings Kagome to his den in a cave. The guys want to eat her...but Kouga said no! Shippo is also there & Kouga's about to feed him to the wolves when Kagome says she won't help if anything happens to him. Kagome agrees to help him get the shards from the birds cuz she reasons that if she were outside Inu can find her.

Starts with Kouga running off with Kagome. The rest of the gang try & figure out what went wrong. Meanwhile Kagome wants to get out of Kouga's cave & she sits there thinking. Kouga comes back with food. He stares at her before telling her she's now his mate & she's like freaked out. The rest of the wolves are surprised at Kouga's decision. Kagome smacks him when he pulls her close. Kouga's shocked & so are his men! She tries to explain herself. Kouga's answer is to kill Inu & then Kagome will be free to love him. Meanwhile the gang is still looking for Kag & Shippo then it's back to the wolves & Kouga & Kag are about to battle them. Kag is praying Inu will get there soon & the leader of the Birds are planning to battle the wolves!

This scroll is about the wolf/bird battle. Kagome scores points with the wolves when she saves one of Kouga's buds (I forget if it's Ginta or Hahaku she saves) At the end of it Inu & the gang arrive. Kagome runs staight into Inu's arms! Kouga is pissed & so is Inu!

Anywyas the battle between the wolves, the gang & the birds is still going on, plus the battle between Kouga & Inu especially now that Kopuga has told Inu that he likes Kagome & she's his mate.

The three way battle still goes on. Kouga decides to go after the head bird inorder to impress Kagome. He gets bit & looses the shard in his arm. Inu then has to save him by killing the bird. Everyone's impressed with Inu afetr he does that. Inu is then taken aback by Kagome who's sitting there comforting an injured Kouga!

Anywyas Kouga & Inu still want to beat the crap out of each other. Kouga's too hurt to fight but Inu doesn't care & he goes after him & kagome hass to sit him. Then Kouga's buds drag him away. This starts a fight between Inu & Kag. She winds up going home. Anywyas at Kagome is sulking & upset, Shippo meanwhile has gone to Kaede for help & later on watches along with Miroku, Inu kicking the well!
