Manga Book Ten

Note: This book recounts what happened so far in the story as well as gives a brief description of the main characters.

Scroll One: The Mummy

Naraku & Sango are off to find Inuyasha. She's sooo badly injured she can hardly move & is only kept going by thoughts of revenge! We see a flashback of how Naraku is there with her. Poor Sango knows she'll die but doesn't care as long as Inuyasha dies too. Meanwhile the gang are exploring the village & are learning about it's people. They find a cave they all go in (in the anime they can't get in until Sango helps them)& find the mummified remains of a woman & demon locked in battle. Everyone wonders what happened to the woman. Meanwhile Sango is trying to get to Inuyasha. Naraku takes "pity" on her gives her a jewel shard to help her. The gang leaves & Miroku asks Inuyasha to stop as Kagome can't go on anymore. Inuyasha asks her what's wrong & she tells him. They start to fight again & are interrupted by Sango! She wants a fight! It's hard as Myouga tells Inuyasha not to hurt her & all she wants to do is kill him!

Scroll Two: Vengeance

Sango & Inuyasha battle on. Miroku tries to help Inuyasha with his wind tunnel, but Naraku lets his killer bees loose, so he can't help! That's how Inuyasha senses him! He wants to kill Naraku, but Sango won't let him as she wants to battle Inuyasha! During the battle Kagome discovers that Sango has a jewel shard in her back. More Inuyasha/Sango battling. Meanwhile Miroku decides to battle Naraku! Miroku cuts off Naraku's hand that held his sword. & he thinks he can kill him now. Then Naraku calls the hand to kill Kagome! Luckily Inuyasha stops it! The hand still manages to steal her jewel shards!

Scroll Three: Suspicions

Naraku leaves now that he has the jewel shards. But Sango still has to kill Inuyasha& meet him at the castle! She wonders if she should trust him after all. So she sends Kirara to follow him. Inuyasha still wants his battle with Naraku but is stopped from going after him by Sango. They battle on. Inuyasha knocks her mask off & then he saves her from her poison gas. Sango is puzzled by it. She still doesn't trust Inuyasha so she stabs him in the arm. He's like what a fool & he tells her she's bleeding to death. Sango can believe it as the jewel shard was masking the pain. She faints. Then Kagome tells Inuyasha Sango has a jewel shard in her back. Meanwhile Miroku is a man on a mission: he's out to get Naraku & is stopped by a cliff. Kirara comes by & takes him on her back. He's almost got Naraku when Naraku engulfs them in tree roots. They fall & Miroku is like now what am I going to do?

Scroll Four: Strategies

Sango then comes to to find herself being carried on Inuyasha's back! She can't believe what's going on & everyone tells her what's going on to calm her fears & get her to trust them. Meanwhile Naraku is involved in Battle with Kirara & Miroku! Just as Miroku is about to be killed Inuyasha saves him! YAY! Although Inuyasha thinks he's dead st first. That gets Miroku a bump on his head when Inuyasha finds out he's not dead! Anyways they go back to dealing with Naraku! Inuyasha get Naraku to admit what he did to Sango's village. Sango when she hears that is majorly PO'ed! She tries to get in the act but is way too injured! Naraku taunts her & Inuyasha attacks! He thinks he's killed Naraku! Naraku's head laughs at him!

Scroll Five: Golem

Everyone is still standing around happy Naraku is dead!!! Too bad he's NOT! Then Inuyasha & Miroku battle the body of Naraku while Sango mentally beats herself up over what he did to her! She sees something in his chest & tells the guys to target that to kill him! Inuyasha does & Naraku is destroyed! In the remains they find a doll. Miroku explains that it's a golem spell & Naraku is really somewhere else! We then see the young Lord in his castle & he watches as a wooden doll falls in two. The young lord in not at all displeased with what has happened. This is where we find out that the Young Lord is really Naraku who's taken over his body! Meanwhile the gang is back at Sango's village. Inuyasha is complaining that Sango is still injured. Miroku tells him to shut up & he goes on about Naraku. More Inuyasha complaining as Kagome goes to see Sango! She's gone & is found at the graveside. Sango talks to Kagome about how they took care of the dead. Then feeling sorry for her & at a loss as for what to do, Kagome invites her along. They talk more about the jewel. As she leaves Sango tells Kagome that she'll tell her more about the jewel.

Scroll Six: The Birth of the Jewel

They go inside the cave & Sango tells them that the mummy they see is the result of a horde of demons banding together to defeat one mortal! They think it's some ancient warlord, but Sango tells them it's a woman! & she was a powerful priestess! This woman spent her life like Kikyo did. Her name was Midoriko. Only she could extract a demon's soul! She was powerful enough to destroy ten demons at once! She could extract the souls of anything; animals, humans, demons, trees or stones. Then she & Miroku tell the story about the "four souls". No one gets what they're talking about! (I love the pic of Kagome & Shippo with swirl eyes!) Inuyasha gets mad until Sango explains further. The story continues & it starts to sound familiar!!! As there's some guy who loved Midoriko & he had all these demons possess him!!!(remind you of anyone??^^) Thank you Miroku for telling us this story sounds like Naraku's!!! Anyways Inuyasha gets Sango to go on & she finishes the story by telling them that the battle went on for seven days & nights until Midoriko's soul was almost sucked from her body! She instead took the demon's soul into her own! Then they both died & the Shikon jewel was born! It was the crystallize remains of the combined souls. It is said that even though their bodies are gone, they still battle inside the jewel! The jewel will then become as good or evil as the person who possesses it! So a demon will corrupt it & a pure-souled being will cleanse it & purify it! It has passed through many hands until Sango's grandfather got a hold of it & he entrusted it to Kikyo! Then Naraku was created to defile the jewel & Kikyo when she died took it with her in death to end the cycle that's being played over again! Kagome thinks about Kikyo & how she brought the jewel back to this time again! Inuyasha gets mad & complains about the jewel manipulating them! He vows to end the cycle himself!

Scroll Seven: The Water God

Now everyone's off to find Naraku's castle! Unfortunately Sango can't remember where it is! Miroku now has a new hobby: flirting with Sango! ^^ Anyways after telling Inuyasha that they should just find jewel shards so Naraku will come to them, he makes sure it's alright with Sango! He tells her he feels her pain & she replies with a "Well ...I'm sure you feel me knees at least!" Inuyasha & Kagome are disgusted by his behavior.^^ The a procession goes past nearby. The locals talk about the Water God & his sacrifices. It's now the headman's turn to give up his child. The gang hears & goes to investigate. Before anyone can learn much of anything they are hustled off by the headman. They sit around wondering about it. Then a kid shows up & gives them some stuff if they go stop the Water God. Inuyasha bashes the kid around a bit. Meanwhile the Sacrifice is on his way to see the Water God. Then we find the gang is following the other boy so they can save the Sacrifice! The boy then 'fesses up as to why he's so intent on saving the other kid. Turns out he's really the Headman's son & HE should be the sacrifice!!! So everyone is now intent on destroying this water-god!

Scroll Eight: The Holy Relic

The gang make their way to the shrine. The kid tells them to hurry. I love the way Inuyasha just barges in!! Meanwhile the sacrifice & the Water God meet. The water God knows he's been tricked & he's not too happy about it! Then Inuyasha breaks in to save the day! YAY!!! He kicks some fishy butt & finds the Water God. The Water God is happy the real headman's child showed up! Anywasy Inuyasha wants to kick some Water God butt! But he can't! It seems the Water God has a real Holy relic! So Miroku thinks he;'s a real god & he shouldn't be angered! Unfortunately it's too late for that!

Scroll Nine: The God's Truth

The PO'ed water God then gets even by engulfing everyone in water! Luckily Kagome manages to grab onto the headman's son & Shippo grabbed on to her before they find themselves out of the water & back in the shrine. The sacrifice then tries to attack the water god & is stopped! This ticks off Kagome who gets out her bow! She manages to shoot off his hand! & thery're now in more trouble & running for their lives!!! Meanwhile Miroku & Sango find themselves wash up together! He then takes advantage of the situation & tries to give her mouth to mouth when she wakes up & whacks him! Then they look around & find Inuyasha floating in the water. Two Fish sprites have him & they tell them that the true water god is imprisoned in a cave. Inuyasha wakes up & Miroku asks him if he's going to help rescue the true water god. Inuyasha tells him he's off to save Kagome! Meanwhile Kagome is in trouble....

Scroll Ten: The True God

Anyways the flase water god is now out to get Kagome!!! She, Shippo & the boys are trapped in the boat house. Just as the false Water god is about to kill Kagome, Inuyasha leaps in to save her!!This starts a battle between INuyasha & the false Water God. Meanwhile Sango & Miroku are off to save the True Water God. They find a cave sealed with spell scrolls. When they open it they find the true water god...er goddess! They are surprised to see her so small. Meanwhile things don't look too good for Inuyasha!...
