Japanese terms used in my stories

These are a few of the words I've used in some of my stories & their meanings. I'll add to it when I find I've used a new word. I will sometimes use a word without translating it so as not to cause offense among those easily offended or those who are tender-hearted.

Ohayou- Good Morning

uwagi - jacket

mokkori- *blushes* Let's just say Sesshomaru was very happy to be with Rin!

doumoarigatou- thank you very much

aishiteru- I love you

jieichou- captain of the guard

tsukikage- moonlight

yoarashi- night storm

anno- filler word like "uuuummmm"

oyaji- father

ofukuro- mother

Chichi-ue- father (very respectful term)

Haha-ue - mother (very respectful term)

ikebana- flower arranging

tachisuji- swordsmanship

oiran- courtesan

hime- suffix that means either Lady or princess

ningen- human

shounen- boys

gomen nasi or gomen- excuse me

Inu-kouhi- Dog Queen

jihi- lady-in-waiting

bebiibeddo- baby's bed/crib

baka kusotare- stupid arse

koishii- dear, darling, sweetie

youbo- foster mother

shikken- regent

jogonsha- adviser/councilor

maisou- burial/funeral

seppuku- ritual suicide. Men would disembowel themselves with their sword/ women would slit their throats.

Daijoubu- alright. it's a word that can be used as a question "Are you alright?" as well as an answer "Yes, I'm alright."

Obi- the beautiful sash that is worn with a kimono. They can also be tied in a number of different kind of knots. It's made from a long piece of fabric much like the one Sess wears around his waist, although as far as I know it's worn only by women.

Yamainu - wolf or Japanese wild dog

jamakusai - pain in the butt

ahondara - fool, oaf, airhead

eihei - palace guard

oushikuso - BS or bull manure. ^^

shatei - younger brother
